The 19th of December in Paris, PériPate, an alternative collective, organized a big bike ride called "PériProcession”. At their image, a real techno parade was expected and was of a great success.

Their idea came from the initiative of the German collective Fhainest Kollectiv, which saw dozens of revellers on bikes accompanied by techno music in the streets of Berlin last August. On December 19, the Parisian crew brought together music-loving cyclists from the capital for a musical tour of Paris, a sort of Techno Parade by bike. An original alternative to the party in these times of health crisis, allowing to “exult their frustration of the lack of party”- announced in the Facebook event description.

This event was a great idea, as it was outside, and people respected social distancing, which made the event legal still allowing the young generation to meet other people and enjoy sound together! With the sanitary situation that we have been living in since a year now, the young generation and techno lovers are getting impatient and are finding solutions to still enjoy with others good music and have a feeling of party. Young adults are starting to stop respecting the rules and do more and more illegal parties. This event is the perfect example they should do instead of squeezing themselves into a crowded flat and have way more chance to pass on the virus. They will want to party and listen to music with others anyway, we might as well let them do that outside on a bike, respecting social distancing.
